At Copper Kitchen, our passion is creating events that delight the senses and exceed expectations. We create seasonal menus using the best possible local ingredients sourced from Maryland and regional farmers and purveyors. We deeply believe “know your farmer” is not just a motto, but a philosophy – and one that we hold dear. We strive to be an industry leader in service, cuisine, and presentation. We believe that giving back to the community is an essential part of our work, and we know the best chefs are the ones that never stop learning.
Copper Kitchen was established in 2011 by Jennifer DeVos and Chef Kevin Miller. Jennifer and Kevin bring over 40 years combined experience in the restaurant and catering industry. As Executive Chef at Baltimore’s Ixia restaurant, Kevin’s modern and innovative cuisine consistently won accolades from Baltimore media. Jennifer’s skill as an organizer and can-do attitude prepared her well for her role as owner of a boutique concierge service. When Jen’s clients needed private chef services, she began to call on Kevin – and those calls kept coming. Very quickly, Jen and Kevin realized that they were clearly made to join forces and launch their own catering company.
Now in its seventh year, the Copper Kitchen team has grown to 22 full time staff members, with an event service staff of over 150. Copper Kitchen’s commitment to sourcing ingredients locally is a crucial part of who we are. Along with the growing list of local farms we source from, we also have an on-site herb garden, on-site apiary where we harvest our own honey, and a refurbished 160 year old on-site smokehouse where we smoke our own meats.

Copper Kitchen’s commissary and gardens are located in southwest Baltimore City. Our apiary and smokehouse are located on the grounds of Piedmont Learning Center in Gwynn Oak, Maryland. We service the entire DelMarVa region, including Maryland, Washington D.C., Northern Virginia, and Pennsylvania.
Our team is family. We know that every player in an event is crucial – from menu consultation to contract delivery, from dishes being spotless to wine being chilled, from guests feeling welcomed to seamless course transitions – each task and team member is valued, and pivotal. Our team members hold each other and every event to the highest of standards, and it shows in their work.
